So many things to talk about since my last post. Here goes...
First, I went home the weekend of the 16-18th of October. This was an interesting weekend because this happened:
Luckily, this was not our house/garage.
It was our neighbors'.
Whatever exploded in his garage, it shook our house enough for us to come outside.
Now here are more pictures of the fire!!!
Fire burns on...
One of five fire trucks that arrived...
Smoke still comes out the roof...
Party over here.
Suiting up to go in...
The damage.
So yeah. That was on Saturday around two. Then that night I went and saw "Paranormal Activity".
Let's not talk about that.
(moving on...)
Second thing I want to talk about: funny things.
To begin, let's take a look at one of my all time favorite comics, "Pearls Before Swine".
Classic.
Any gamer will love this one:
Timeless.
It's Halloween, so you know what that means!? CHRISTMAS!!!
How do people come up with things like this? <------- DITTO
And now your final funny picture of the day:
The REAL periodic table of elements. (Before the scientists decided to put it on a wall...)
And finally, the last topic of the night: loss of thought.
That's right.
I completely forgot what I was going to talk about. The only thing that I really wanted to get out there was the pictures of the garage fire. Plus I wanted to test out the 'uploading image' thing for my blog.
Which I did.
I know there were at least 2 other things I wanted to say/tell/rant about. However, I cannot remember.
Therefore, I will leave you with this:
"Stay in school. Don't do drugs. Discover the world." - Christopher Corpening <---Brilliant man, scholar, investigator, doctor, and problem solver.
I promise not to make these so long anymore.
Those who have made it this far... the answer was 'Path A' but that is only if you take the 4th right.
Goodnight everyone out there! I hope you had as much fun as I have.
See you next time!
-CC
P.s. Discover the world. Explore everything around you. Take time to be outside. Breath. And above all else, stop rotting your brain. Put down the books and turn on the T.V.
"Suck on my chocolate salty balls..."
So here I am. Sitting in my apartment room. Lights out. Writing in my blog. Listening to "Chef Aid: The South Park Album".
And I am excited.
"Why?" you ask.
"Well," I say, "because season 13b of South Park airs tomorrow night at 10/9c!"
"But I don..."
"NO!" I would yell (because I am an asshole).
"NO! I don't think you understand. If I could watch any television show, past or present, for the rest of eternity, I would pick South Park. Every time."
Don't get me wrong, other shows are great, but South Park makes me laugh. And that's all I need. Just to sit back, relax, turn on SP and get lost.
Tomorrow's episode is about Ike seeing dead celebrities and Kyle calls in the TAPS team (from Ghost Hunters on SyFy) to help Ike get rid of these ghosts. It is going to be great! I LOVE South Park and I LOVE Ghost Hunters! Everyone tune in tomorrow at 10/9c to Comedy Central! It's going to be great!
Moving on. Today I saw a guy driving a car.
Not just an ordinary car, but a luxury car.
A luxury car with televisions in the back of the head rests of the front seats. That way people sitting in the back seats can watch TVs.
Only one problem. No one was in the back seat.
The guy driving was the only one in the car. This made me wonder...why?
Why have televisions in the back seat if no one was watching them?
Then it hit me! Obviously they were for "on-the-road conferences".
"Don't have time for a get together? Can't find a meeting place or space? Going on a trip but still need to have that important business meeting before you light that fire and curl up in a snuggie?" "Well now you can! Just crawl in the back seat of this luxury sedan and turn on the TV. It's perfect for just that occasion! Nothing else really. So...have fun!"
Go out. Buy a luxury sedan. Have a back seat conference on the road.
Then sell the car.
Wasn't that fun?
Finally, more SP!
If I could show you what I have on my tabs right now on Firefox, you would think I'm psychotic. I have interviews from Trey Parker and Matt Stone from years ago and days ago, ready to read. I just love reading and listening to them talk about their progress. They are a true inspiration.
If I could work at South Park Studios, I would never want to leave. Just to walk into the building that is SPS would be a dream come true.
I have read through 2 interviews so far (3 more to go) and listened to two hour long interviews. I don't know what else to say.
One of my goals is to go the the South Park Studios in CA. That reminds me. I need to make a list of goals/wishes. Maybe on my next blog entry...if I remember...
Anyways...this was way too long and I applaud those of you that got this far.
*applauds rather sarcastically*
I will go now. Till next time...
-CC
P.S. Laugh. Read. Listen. Watch. South Park. And Laugh. Do not forget to laugh.
Jesus Christ monkey balls!
I applaud the managers over at Comedy Central and, of course, I applaud Trey Parker and Matt Stone!!!
For 2 solid hours, Comedy Central aired the "Fishsticks" episode of South Park. Brilliant! This was the greatest thing since (insert your most favorite invention here)! Mocking Kanye West for 2 hours was the greatest thing in the world. I can't explain to you how awesome it was. After watching what Kanye did, it was perfect to see that he really IS a gayfish. Priceless.
Moving on...
... what have I been doing since my last post in June? I will explain:
First off, let's start with the online diary. I finished the diary on August 30th. It was a wonderful experience. I didn't want to stop but since school is starting up again, it was inevitable. If you want to check it out, go here: http://www.youtube.com/ChrisCorp
Second, as I mentioned, school has started back up again. I will try to "blog" more. When I have something on my mind, I will promise to come here and spill my thoughts.
Third, television shows. I have recently begun to follow some T.V. shows that you may or may not be interested in. Here is my list (no particular order):
24 (new season starts January)
South Park (new season starts October 7th)
Warehouse 13 (currently running on SyFy)
Lie to Me (new season starts September 28th)
House (new season starts September 21st)
Fringe (new season starts September 17th)
Ghost Hunters (currently running on SyFy)
Destination Truth (currently running on SyFy)
The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (currently running on NBC)
The Office (new season starts on September 18th)
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (currently running on Comedy Central)
The Colbert Report (currently running on Comedy Central)
It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia (new season starts September 17th)
Psych (currently running on USA)
Burn Notice (new season starts this winter)
I hope you decided to pick some of these up. You can find them all on Hulu.
Lastly, there is nothing else really going on. Just trying to get back into this "blog" thing. I hope everyone (all 3 of you that read this) had a wonderful summer!
Tell me about your summer in the comments section! I would love to read what YOU did!
Thanks for reading! Be back soon!
~CC
How many people actually read my blog? I just want a count - so please put a comment to this post just saying "Hi" or "Hey" or your name and where you live. Thanks!
The online diary:
I have been doing the diary for over a month now. You can find it at www.youtube.com/ChrisWCorp. I am hoping to get a relatively good following by the time school starts up, but it's just a goal.
The diary has kept me busy with always remembering to film and edit and stuff. Right now I am filming on a JVC Everio camera but I am thinking about getting the Insignia 3" camcorder. I really don't know what to do. I will either get the Insignia camcorder because it is smaller and easier to put in my pocket when not in use OR get a longer battery life for my JVC camera. Comments would be appreciated.
Summer work:
Right now my dad has me working on little projects around the house or around the church. for instance, I am digging a ditch at the church that is 80 feet long. I agreed to get paid $100. It should have been more.
I am still looking for a job. I just applied to another place today, however I cannot work until July 8th. Which brings me to my next topic:
Vacation:
I am leaving for West Virginia on Tuesday and won't be back till 2 weeks later. My sister and I are working on a movie project to be filmed while there. *crosses fingers*
We are visiting relatives and family and I suppose for the first week we will just do the regular "meet and greet" and then the next week we will sit around and watch T.V. Hopefully we will film our movie or I will film a lot for the video diary. Which ever comes first.
But for now:
I am just updating everyone about what is going on and to go check out my video diary. I have a few rants and poems, but for now I will leave you with a question:
When you open the treasure chest, will there be treasure or will there be dust?
Goodnight everyone!
~ChrisCorp
I am sorry.
I know I haven't posted anything in a long while. The reason: I have been busy. School got out May 13th and, to be honest, I forgot about you. I got a new e-mail address and tried linking it with this blog, but I am having a hard time. So I will make it hassle free, and just sign in with my old e-mail address to update you.
Lots to talk about. But I will take it post by post. Let's get started.
Summer hit with a heat wave that just won't go away. I changed e-mail addresses and created a new Youtube account along with a Twitter.
[Twitter: ChrisCorp]
[Youtube: ChrisWCorp]
After watching two people that I follow on Youtube (Danny - Ddiary09 and Philip - PhilipDeFranco) I have decided to start my own video diary. It started the day I got out of school from my sophomore year at college and will continue until school starts back up again on August 31st.
That has kept me busy along with applying for summer jobs and doing work around the house. A couple of my friends and I started a custom t-shirt site (which is still being worked on) because neither of us could find summer jobs. The link: click here.
I am also traveling to West Virginia to visit relatives on Tuesday and will be there for 2 weeks. So that is a good thing about the summer.
I have decided to stop editing the day and time that I post something. 1) it's too much work and 2) there is not point. I will just post when I post when I want to post.
That's it for this entry. Have a great summer everyone!
~ChirsCorp
If you are reading this, thank you. Even though I have not been updating this frequently, I think about it. As you may know (you meaning the 4 of you that are keeping up with me) I am in college and time is rare.
I have so many thoughts and ideas that I want to write them down. That is why I started this blog. Hoping that I could get my thoughts on paper.
Maybe rant a little bit about things.
Maybe jot my ideas down for later recall.
Maybe to get ideas for a book that I would write.
Maybe not.
As you may have noticed, I change up the date that I post these blogs. Thinking about it, I do this so I can look back and see some progression being made in life. So I can look back and think, "Wow. I had something that I kept up with constantly." Because college is eating up a lot of my time, I try to keep up with my blog and hopefully (sometime in the future) start up a vlog.
It's slowly making its way into existence.
Anyway, I guess that all I have to say about the strange posts. Also, expect more in the future. I will try to allocate time each week to update my blog.
Thanks for reading!
~Christopher
The night did not feel like any other. The sun had set a few hours ago. The air was cool. The wind would blow, every so often, mixing up the leaves that lay on the ground.
The crickets chirp every other minute with an occasional frog here and there. The wind blows again, this time harder. Laves lift and move with me across the sidewalk. Every five minutes someone passes by. A quick nod and small smile, then they are gone. I don't know who they were or where they are going.
Turn around.
They are gone. It's getting colder. Hands in pockets and head down to the ground watching feet move across the earth.
A light flickers off; then on; then off again just as I pass. The clock tower strikes 12. The clouds cover up the full moon. 1... 2... 3... Another person. Smile. Nod. Move on. 6... 7... The wind again. This time it is warm. Hands come out of my pockets. 10... A frog. 11... Leaves fall to the ground. 12.
I reach the steps. It is silent. As I fumble for my keys, I hear a voice behind me.
"Jon. I followed you."
Starting today, I am going to be creating, typing, and posting chapters of a story. The chapters will be randomly spread out throughout my blog from this post onward. They will be titled "Chapter (X)" so that you know when I have posted the next chapter.
I just wrote the first chapter today (well, last night), so I don't know where the story will go from here.
Stay tuned.
*As always, this story is a work of fiction. Any resemblance of names to any person living or dead is purely coincidental. This story is copyright March 9, 2009 by me (the author).*
This could not be any more accurate.
I found this from Caitlin, who I follow here on blogger and is famous on YT. Thank you Caitlin.
1. Go to the Wikipedia home page and click on random article. That is your band's name.
2. Click random article again; that is your album name.
3. Click random article 15 more times; those are the tracks on your album.
4. Post a review of the resulted album.
Band name: Bobby on Track
Album name: Yoshihide Hayashi
Tracks:
1. Fort Wayne Open
2. USS George Washington
3. Arnold Frolows
4. 1030 Vitja
5. Lolium multiflorum
6. Protocol for Limiting and Regulating the Cultivation of the Poppy Plant, the Production of, International and Wholesale Trade in, and Use of Opium
7. China Lucky Film
8. December 11
9. Alternative Party
10. Liverpool, Crosby and Southport Railway
11. Abels Shipbuilders
12. Brzozowo Wielkie
13. Wola Myslowska
14. Silverhill, Hastings
15. BlackBerry
"Collected Thoughts" Number One:
Apparently, Bobby on Track is the title of an episode of King of the Hill. Now I'm not sure whether 'Bobby' is on task, completing a task, running on a track, skipping down a track, or lying on railroad tracks.
This will be an interesting band logo... *shows a picture of a kid wearing a shirt that says: "Hi! I'm Bobby!" while skipping down some railroad tracks*
"Collected Thoughts" Number Two:
Yoshihide Hayashi. I guess our album is dedicating a general in the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. Yoshihide's parents obviously played too much Nintendo and inherited the last name "Hayashi" which means "woods".
Could also be confused with Yoshi's new album: "Yoshi hides in woods."
"Collected Thoughts" Number Three:
Well the first song has the word "open" right in the name. A simple introductory instrumental song to introduce the band and album feeling.
The next few songs are very bass driven and lively with the occasional high pitch synthesizer cut in between the chorus. Ranging from the ship song to a song about an Australian radio personality to an asteroid and ending on a plant native to Europe (that has no known origin).
And speaking of plants, the next 2 songs are more melodic and calm with a transition from opium and China to the end of the year and a party. These songs represent the winter season and are bringing in the new year with upbeat, dance like rhythms and lively interactions between friends and family.
As the new year begins, we move to the railways of England and over to ship builders in Bristol. Then we move over to Poland and stop in visit two villages in east/central-east of the country.
Finally, we make our way back to southern England and finally stopping in BlackBerry. Oh, wait. BlackBerry isn't a place, it's a product. However, now-a-days, it might as well be considered a place where people live there lives.
This was a fun game...thanks to Caitlin (and Tom) for the introduction. I learned a lot of random facts that I will probably never use again in my life, but who knows. Maybe I will be on a game show...naw.
You try playing the game either on your own blog (and link to me!) or in the comments below. It would be fun to see what you can come up with using random names, places, and events.
*Don't forget to buy Bobby on Track's new album "Yoshihide Hayashi", due out...well...probably never.
So for the past few weeks I have been busy with school starting up again. I haven't had anytime to come up with anything "witty" or "clever" that will top my "MUTE!" rant/message. So for now, I will leave you (those of you who read this blog) with some thoughts to go about your next few days or weeks of whatever you may be doing. Have fun!
Thoughts for your day:
- Who tastes dog food when it has a 'new & improved' flavor?
- The things that come to those who wait may be the things left by those who got there first.
- When you go into court you are putting yourself in the hands of 12 people that weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty.
- To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research.
- How far east can you go before you're heading west?
- In the song Yankee Doodle, is he calling the horse or the feather "macaroni"?
- Why is vanilla ice cream white when vanilla extract is brown?
- Why does the Easter bunny carry eggs? Rabbits don't lay eggs.
- What happens to an irresistible force when it hits an immovable object?
- Why do they call him Donkey Kong if he is not a donkey?
- Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?
Well I think I'm done. Good luck!
I'm sure everyone has seen by now that most videos on YouTube have been muted or claimed of copyright and removed. Well I say to YouTube: "F@#K YOU!"
I don't know what has been happening to the videos lately. Many videos that contain full songs cleverly made up into a crazy dance or lip-sync video have become muted. This videos indicate that a "third party" has made a copyright claim to that particular song and/or video.
There are two sides to this:
1) It is against the law to publish a song with your own work and claim it as "your work".
2) These songs are being used, not for profit, but for entertainment purposes only. (Creative Common License anyone?) Therefore, proper notification of the musical artists may allow the music to stay accompanied with the video.
However, there is a problem. Many of these muted videos or disappearance of videos are from the company that produces the music!! The production company for the music/music videos (who, as I would guess, owns a copyright to the song and video) are forced to take down their own copyrighted material! How can this happen!?
A lot of people are saying this is the "end of YouTube".
I think not.
I believe that as a group of YouTubes, we can bring back the old YT and force out the ass-holes running this poor excuse for a "video sharing site".
I believe what we face is a f@#king moron over at the YT head quarters who, thinks that because he "got promoted" to be in charge of "monitoring" the videos uploaded and watched, he thinks he now has the power to flag, mute, and remove any and all videos that contain a shred of creativity among the new generation and advance of new technologies.
ATTENTION YouTube VIEWERS!!!
we need to stick together and fight our way through this moron and continue to do what we have done in the past and upload any video we wish to share with the online community.
Before long, we will gain back control of YT and finally remove that obsessive power-hungry moron removing all the videos that made 2008 what it was: A Year of Online Connectiveness.
Either that or the world will slowly eat its self into a black hole of technology.
I am jealous and want to be in New York. I can just imagine the tall buildings. The crowds of people. Everyone either on a phone or on an iPod.
I can imagine just one or two of my best friends on a vacation to New York. Or maybe, even getting a job in New York. I wonder when I will be taken. Maybe even Los Angeles!? I've always wanted to go there too. Just to experience Hollywood and be among the studios and movie lots.
Maybe even meeting new people and becoming friends. Maybe collaborate on a project and become millionaires. Or possibly get arrested, then break out of jail, and be running from the FBI for three years. Who knows. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting older and things that I want to do or could have done are passing by.
Things are changing and I'm not quite sure where I will end up in a few years. So many things left undone.
I need to make a list...
~Christopher
...yet the chaos is oh so beautiful.'
Someone was onto something there; chaos controls our lives.
Where are you right now?
Why?
What did you do today?
Did you want to do that?
Do you have decisions about what you will do later?
What will you pick? Why?
Go ahead. Take a coin right now and give each side a decision to be made later today. Flip the coin. Now stick with that choice later on today no matter what. Chaos - the random probability of events. What makes chaos so beautiful is the outcome of that decision, because you can never go back and see what would have happened. The inevitable, "What if..."
Is that not what life is about? Only moving in one direction. "No Coming Back."
Although, sometimes, it would be nice to go back and find out.
Alas, "There is no other way. It's television not telephone."
Chaos is a wonderful thing, just don't over use it.
~Christopher
I am sitting here at 1:25am eating carrots. (no dip. I don't like dip.)
Why? Well because I like a midnight snack and unlike normal people I don't have a breakfast. I eat lunch around 3pm and I don't have dinner till 8 or 9ish. It's not really a good habit but I figure since I am eating carrots, and carrots are healthy, it's a win (/win?).
I am still awake because my sleep pattern has been getting off lately.
Stay up till 3am. Go to bed. Get up at 2pm. Do nothing all day. Stay up till 3am.
Usually I would not get online and write about my thoughts or ideas. A while back I was thinking about starting a vlog. That never took off. Then I thought about blogging. Now there's a way to get my ideas and thoughts out without turning the camera on, saying "ummm" and "yeah" 47 times, then turning the camera back off.
Computers and cameras have a way of pulling me into an alternate life and I begin altering my plans on the spot. One link leads to the next and that one leads to the next. Idea after idea. Thought after thought. I needed some place to put it all down.
I started making short film projects and exploring the vast amount of information on the internet when Pluto was still a planet. (IT STILL IS!!!) After posting a few videos I became caught up with school and the camera collected dust in a corner of a closet. I had gotten some nice comments from everyone who watched my videos, but nothing happened for a year and everything seemed to go away. I wanted to start filming again, thus the idea of becoming a vlogger (?).
I had seen others vlog on YouTube and I thought, "Oh! This will be easy." WRONG! First, what do I talk about? Second, who will watch me? (I wouldn't even watch myself...)
...I digress.
Hopefully with this blog (and other projects) I will have my own "EXPLOSION" and finally get out there in the real or not so real world.
Case in point: -Now I eat carrots (again...no dip) in the wee hours of the new morning hoping to find something.
I have a lot to tell and a lot of thoughts, all to come in good time.
All of you who stick with me, 'Welcome aboard!'
...This is going to be fun...
